The desk is about 70 years old. It has a slate top. The chair folds up to be stashed away, unlike many other school desks, this desk and chair set is comprised of two separate pieces. It is a great wooden desk with tons of school house character. Super sturdy, since they don’t make things like they used to. Equipped with a compartment to hole books and other stuff on the top as well as an interior compartment so you can store all your childs art supplies and what not on the inside.
